Mark Collins, age 56, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born October 18, 1967, in St. Charles, the son of Kenneth and Alice (Gordon) Collins. Mark graduated from Geneva High School before attending Columbia College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Photography. He was employed by Sun Chemical for over twenty years and then recently sought different opportunities at Lawrence & Fredrick, Inc.
Mark was a dedicated father, son, brother, and uncle. He cherished time with family and friends, but his greatest devotion was to his son, Oscar. Mark demonstrated his love of family, shared his fondness for art and music, and was always present for Oscar.
Mark had a keen eye for photography and was found snapping a wide variety of still pictures from cars to restrooms, or statues and people. He had hoped one day to compile his work into a published book. His other interests included grilling and smoking meats, fishing, and riding his motorcycle on charity rides or for fun. Mark had a knack for telling corny jokes, he looked forward to sharing stories and a beer with neighbors, but mostly he enjoyed making others laugh.
Mark was preceded in death by his maternal Grandparents, Alice and Robert Gordon; paternal Grandparents, Mary and Frank Collins; his Father Kenneth Collins, an Aunt, several Uncles, Brother-in-laws, and cousin Charlie Brandt. He is survived by his son Oscar Collins, his mother Betty Collins, and his siblings Mary Koza of St.Charles; Mike (Heather) Collins of Gulf Breeze, Florida; and Matt (Karen) Collins of Fishers, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Mark will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 4-8pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E State Street, Geneva, Illinois. Funeral Prayers will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 9:30 am at the Malone Funeral Home, Geneva, proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, Illinois for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father John McFadden Celebrant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0GfFHWZdvg
